TESCO Alumni Reunion

Published: 29 June 2015

With magnificent views over St Paul’s Cathedral, the inaugural Tesco Alumni evening hosted by the Odgers Group - with representation from the three brands Odgers Berndtson, Berwick Partners and Odgers Interim - took place on our rooftop terrace on a beautiful summers evening. The warm weather meant spirits were high as the Alumni community gathered for a much anticipated evening.

An excellent turnout comprised some of the biggest players in Tesco’s illustrious history, including Sir Terry Leahy, Andrew Higginson, David Potts, Tim Mason, Baroness Lucy Neville-Rolfe and Sir David Reid.

Commenting on the evening, Paul Williams of Berwick Partners said “this is a generation of retailers who changed the face of UK retail. They grew Tesco into the world’s third largest retailer, and the ideas and initiatives they implemented put the UK firmly at the front of global retailing skills”.

Like many of the Alumni evenings we host, there appears to be genuine appetite for making this an annual event, and we shall look forward to making it a regular fixture in our events calendar.

Paul Williams is a Consultant within the Berwick Partners’ Retail Practice specialising in finding talented leaders for senior management positions across the sector.
