Berwick Partners boosts growth plans with ten new hires

With the demand for the recruitment of senior leadership positions exceeding pre-pandemic levels, Berwick Partners have made a number of critical specialists hires across its IT & Digital, Higher Education, Real Estate and Not for Profit practices.

The firm has recruited Thomas Ewen as a Principal Consultant in it’s not for profit practice, Timothy Stranks to lead its Real Estate practice, Emily McIntyre as a consultant in its Higher Education practice and Emily Hudson as a consultant in its IT & Digital Practice.

The firm has boosted their support and research teams by 20% and they will be based across Berwick Partners’ London, Birmingham and Manchester offices, the new roles and larger delivery team resource will support Berwick Partners’ continuing growth plans.

A cautious approach pays dividends

Richard Love, the firm’s Managing Director explains: “As we come out of the pandemic, Berwick Partners and the wider Odgers Berndtson Group is in a strong place. We acted early and took a very cautious approach to the pandemic and have seen this pay dividends in the recovery.

“Over the last quarter, we have seen an increase in new clients across the board, with an increase in roles across many of our sectors and functions. We are 30% ahead of budget after our first quarter. To maintain this momentum, we are recruiting consultants across the board, as well as into our delivery teams.”

Tom Ewen joins as a specialist in membership association and professional body leadership, recruiting across all functions at Director, Chief Executive and Director General level. He has nearly two decades’ executive search and recruitment experience, recruiting across a range of markets including government, commercial and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to joining Berwick Partners, Tom was a Director of a boutique search and recruitment business where he recruited leaders in communications, policy, public advocacy, and reputation management as well as association leaders.

Timothy Stranks joins from Redpath Partners having relocated from Melbourne, Australia earlier this year to lead Berwick Partners’ Real Estate & Property practice. He has experience recruiting across all asset classes in the Real Estate market, including real estate services businesses, property developers, real estate investors and occupiers.

Emily McIntyre, who was previously at Perrett Laver where she had been for almost a decade. Emily specialises in executive search appointments in the higher education sector. She has broad experience of placing individuals within both the professional service and academic functions and has led a wide range of searches at the senior leadership and executive level.

Emily Hudson joins Berwick Partners to focus on IT, Change & Transformation leadership roles across a range of innovative sectors including FinTech, Tech start-ups and Government practice. Before joining, Emily worked as a Senior Consultant at Oxford Knight working across the technology sector.
