Higher Education IT Leadership Event - The Rise of the Consumer

Published: 9 September 2016

This week Berwick Partners hosted a dinner debate in Liverpool for 18 CIO’s and IT Directors from across a wide range of national Higher Education institutions.

The event was held in response to the marked change in customer behaviour since the advent of tuition fees in the HE sector. The theme for the evening was ‘The Rise of The Customer’.

After a convivial dinner a spirited debate began covering the explosion in demand since 2010, how technology organisations had responded and views on the direction of future travel.

The predominant feeling was that ‘customer’ meant different things depending on where students were in their degree cycle meaning the need to ‘know your customer’ was the main thrust of many of our attendees activity.

The event was enjoyed by all and provided a forum for open and lively discussions about the current challenges being faced by IT leaders in the sector.
