Tuesday 16th June 2015 saw Berwick Partners and Odgers Interim hosting a prestigious leadership event at the City of Birmingham’s Council House in Victoria Square. Entitled “An office of one’s own” the women’s leadership debate from another angle, the evening saw over 100 guests from a tremendously wide range of sectors convening to debate the challenges and opportunities that exist in trying to address issues of gender balance in business.
An expert panel was chaired by Professor Janet Beer, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Liverpool and comprised of;
- Kathryn James- Managing Director, the NEC
- Pauline Biddle- Practice Senior Partner for the Midlands, Deloitte
- Paddy Prowse- Managing Director, And So To Bed
- Wayne Clarke- Founding Partner, Global Growth Institute
- Sara Thornton- Chair, National Police Chiefs’ Council
Debate was lively and covered a wide spectrum of subjects including the role of diversity in creating economic outcomes, the characteristics of brilliant leaders, unconscious bias, the role of executive search companies in talent acquisition and the importance of challenge in the workplace.
