We were delighted to welcome our guest speaker, Wayne Clarke to the North West. He joined Berwick Partners and several well known HR Directors for an enjoyable evening at The Midland Hotel, Manchester on Thursday 17th May.
Best Companies have surveyed more than two million people in 4000 companies in 20 countries to create the Sunday Times, “Best Companies” Top 100 companies. It continues to be a well publicised event and attracts a wide range of interest from a variety of organisations.
It was great to have senior HR representation from the top two ranking organisations listed in Best Companies in attendance, who are also clients of Berwick Partners. They were able to give insight in to what makes them a ‘winning company’. Both the HR Director’s of ‘Iceland’ and ‘Pets at Home’ spoke in detail to the audience about what makes them different from their competition.
For those who haven’t seen Wayne present, he is naturally engaging, enthusiastic and knowledgeable around his subject topic. The audience were fully engaged and genuinely enjoyed the one hour presentation. The audience then had the opportunity to ask questions to Wayne which he happily answered!
The key topic was around ’What do winning companies do’?
They have great leadership that stems from the Chief Executive. All employees should have faith in their management team and they should be visible within the business.
- Cultural fit is of paramount importance especially when recruiting.
- Employees should be excited and fully bought into the vision of their organisation, understanding clearly the direction of the business and inspired by the team leading them.
- Ensure all employees have fun and want to be there!
Over the last few weeks, Wayne has been recognised for his efforts and has been appointed as an Advisor on Culture for the FA and is now responsible for creating a “winning team” environment.
