2014 LGC Awards

Published: 13 March 2014

More than 1,300 senior Local Government Officers and Elected Members packed the Grand Ballroom of the Grosvenor House Hotel in London last night for the 2014 Local Government Chronicle Awards. The event recognises and celebrates the achievements of local authorities in a range of areas from social care to corporate governance.

The Local Government Practice from Berwick Partners hosted a table of Chief Executives and judges, and sponsored a brand new award, Innovation in Commissioning, which was won by Lancashire County Council.

A highly amusing, if at times slightly irreverent, Rory Bremner was Master of Ceremonies for the evening and treated the audience to impressions of political figures from Nelson Mandela to Boris Johnson. Durham Council fought off strong competition to scoop the top award for Council of the Year.

Berwick Partners congratulates all winners and nominees for their hard work and commitment to improving services over the last year and is proud of its association with this annual event.
