Our 4th annual ASDA Alumni evening was again hosted at the Leeds Doubletree, with stunning views overlooking Leeds and ASDA House. In what has now become a firm fixture in our events calendar, the evening was attended by a range of senior executives who enjoyed successful careers with one of the country’s leading retailers.
As well as offering old colleagues the opportunity to catch up, the evening provided a great forum for current retail ‘hot topics’, with the living wage causing much debate.
Commenting on the evening, Paul Williams of the Berwick Partners Retail Practice noted; “the guest list of ASDA Alumni continues to evolve. With all the changes occurring within the grocery sector, we were delighted to welcome recent leavers from ASDA, and offer them the opportunity to build networks with leavers from a different ASDA era. There is no doubt ASDA continues to develop some of the finest retail talent in the UK, and the opportunity for new leavers to connect with those who have subsequently gone on to forge successful careers post ASDA is a great opportunity”.
During his welcome speech, Paul made reference to the career advice and guidance Berwick Partners had been able to offer to many of the attendees, and paid thanks to many of the audience who have gone on to become clients and whose teams Berwick Partners had helped recruit. Paul said “Berwick Partners remains committed to the regions, and hosting evening such as this gives us unparalleled contacts and networks across the retail communities outside of London”.
