Recognising that technology has a key role to play in the delivery of this transformation, the board identified the need to appoint a new Head of Central Services / IT Director.
Recognising that the private sector was well ahead on the journey towards customer centric operations Berwick Partners were appointed to conduct the assignment to recruit a contemporary, commercially aligned business facing IT leader. Critical to our appointment was our genuine depth of functional and industry sector expertise. Using a multi-channel solution combining proactive search, and carefully selected online advertising and behavioural targeting activities, we were able to both approach and attract candidates from a diverse selection of environments. This approach attracted those who were pre-disposed to a move into Social Housing, but also allowed us to position the complexity and scale of the transformation programme to those who might not have ordinarily considered a move into the sector.
The majority of the candidate pool was drawn from the private sector, and were universally attracted by the exciting IT enabled business transformation that they would shape, influence and lead. In successfully appointing this role the Director of Corporate Services Alastair Clegg commented;
