Permasense is a fast-growing provider of continuous corrosion monitoring technologies for the Oil & Gas sector. In partnership with BP, the company has developed a system for continually monitoring the corrosion of pipes in high temperature and inaccessible environments, and has established a technology that has significant competitive advantage in the market. Profitable and cash-generative, Permasense has made significant inroads into many of the Oil & Gas majors, and needed to appoint an accomplished Account Development Director from the Oil & Gas sector to help deliver their significant growth potential.
Reporting to the CEO this person would be responsible for leading Permasense’s global account development strategy, and developing the reference wins already established into significant, transformational deals. They would also need to build a strong relationship with the executive team of Permasense, complementing their skills and experience of working with the key majors in the Oil & Gas sector.
Our task was to find a first class candidate with a demonstrable track record of success in developing and growing international key account relationships within the Oil & Gas sector. This had to include experience of bringing a new technology to market, coupled with being a highly credible, intellectually curious candidate, with the ability to relate to the Permasense team and their customers globally.

This gave the Permasense team the ability to assess a number of candidates with the experience and skills that would complement their existing capability, and led to a successful placement.
