Their vision is to be the preferred choice for high-performance solutions that create value for their customers by providing them with a competitive advantage in high-growth markets and territories, and achieve sustainable organic growth year-on-year. To help achieve this vision they have created a new strategic global role of Engineering Director to be responsible for the leadership of all their Research and Development teams and processes worldwide. This will involve assessing the structure, capability, and performance of the existing Engineering teams and processes, and establishing a new Engineering function that will support the long-term growth in value of the business.
We were asked to identify and attract experienced R&D leaders with demonstrable success of creating and implementing effective engineering strategies, across a multi-sited industrial engineered components manufacturing environment. Our experience of delivering Engineering leadership assignments enabled us to provide a shortlist that helped the client confirm, in their own minds, what was essential to them in the candidates’ experience. This has led to the appointment an individual with the depth and breadth of engineering leadership, and leadership qualities, that they require in this key strategic appointment.
