VP of Operations & Supply Chain – Inspired Entertainment Inc – UK Based – Six Figure Package

The Background to the Role

Inspired business is growing at a rate where they need to increase capacity, bring the manufacturing facility on a path to excellence and de-risk the supply chain. What works previously must be improved on as the business scales.

The Role

A very exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the value chain of Inspired’s retail sector hardware production. A cross-functional opportunity to build an end-to-end supply chain solution for all Inspired hardware functions. Reporting to the President & COO this role will be empowered to create, promote and lead change as Inspired continue its journey as a leading player in this industry, looking to create a world class supply chain.

Suited to an experienced Operational Supply Chain executive who has experience in the complete Product Life Cycle journey of a product from concept all the way through to after-market services. An in-depth knowledge of global supply chain advances, the journey towards Industry 4.0 and the requirements of a global hardware product’s aftermarket services.

This role will also represent senior leadership onsite in Bridgend where we also have a technology function that reports to the Chief Product Officer.

This role would be ideally suited to an individual that has had global exposure to supply chain challenges resolved using best practise. An excellent knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practises and management of external contract manufacturing partners. Key tasks and Responsibilities

  •  Implement and maintain operational processes and procedures
  • Implement a robust NPI process, connecting all functions within the company
  • Direct mechanical engineering and NPI
  • Direct procurement and supply chain activities
  • Lead continuous improvement and operational excellence activities
  • Logistics
  • Site leadership
  • Structure Internal manufacturing, while managing our outsourced manufacturing partners, towards a connected solution
  • Own, implement and drive all product life cycle functions from concept to end of life/after market
  • Review and own end to end process and flow to ensure a smooth transition through
  • Manage and maximise external key supplier relationships
  • Complete on-going MRP implementation, a good working knowledge of D365 an advantage
  • Responsible to ensure resource and supply plans meet current business plans
The Candidate

We are seeking a strong manufacturing and supply chain leader with a wealth of best practice experience gained within a hi-tech manufacturing environment such as consumer electronics or automotive. Prior experience of managing outsourced sub-contract manufacturers would be highly beneficial as would someone with significant experience of managing the challenges of global supply chains.

Their main sites in the UK are a HQ in Burton on Trent and their manufacturing site in Bridgend. You will split your time between these two locations, although more in favour of Bridgend.

Inspired are open to your current location so long as you can be present in Bridgend for 3 days a week and they would provide assistance in terms of local accommodation for the right individual if required.

Key skills and experiences sought:

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent work-related experience
  • Working knowledge of Industry 4.0 practices
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and CIPS level both a distinct advantage
  • 10 years of progressive experience of driving continuous improvement in supply chain management in an electronics manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrate planning, project management and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner with all levels of an organization, from hourly associates to senior executives, as well as external customers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Dynamics
  • Experience in all elements of procurement, across multiple component categories (electronic, mechanical, plastic etc)
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO9001 at a minimum
  • Strong problem-solving techniques
  • Success with building a diverse, inclusive workforce and leading a culture of belonging that respects every team member
