A truly outstanding opportunity for a technically adept, strategic Head of IT/IT Director to join this market-leading property development, real estate and construction firm. Henry Boot PLC has begun a period of critical transformational change for its IT function. This newly created role represents a chance to set out and deliver the Groups first genuinely cross cutting technology strategy.

You will build real partnerships right across the business helping to devise and deliver a seamless, efficient modern technology landscape. As Group IT Director you will take the firms’ existing high level technology vision distil it and bring it in to reality. You will look for opportunities to harmonise IT across our distinct business unit’s, enable us to better harness the power of data and introduce innovation to help our field-based teams to work smarter. As a business facing commercial technology leader you will network across the senior leadership team, understand business priorities and build shared goals whilst also articulating the ‘art of the possible’ and stimulating demand for IT.

The Role

• Build relationships across a diverse pool of stakeholders to understand our six business units’ drivers then pull together, and deliver, an aligned, pragmatic, yet forward thinking, technology strategy.
• Drive out technical debt, build a platform to enable the better use of data through ‘a single version of the truth.’ Improve our digital maturity levels and the use of innovative tech tools plus data driven insight to deliver a competitive advantage for the firm through technology.  
• Inspire, coach and mentor our IT teams. Build a happy and engaged team, encourage clarity of responsibility, embrace service culture and the adoption of current IT industry disciplines such as service management, business engagement, project prioritisation, and a structured approach to project management.

The Candidate

• Will have devised and delivered a business-aligned technology strategy ideally in a federated, commercial B2C, or B2B, business.
• Will be an enthusing and inspiring people leader having significant IT leadership experience including introducing new, customer-centric ways of working and promoting the adoption of contemporary IT industry practices. 
• Pragmatic, collaborative and down to earth you will be a proactive relationship builder with the proven ability to influence and communicate with commercial and operational stakeholders at all levels.
