Zipabout powers the ‘Alert Me’ service provided through National Rail Enquiries as well as similar services for operators across the UK. Zipabout support:

With secure long-term contracts in UK Rail and an increasing presence in the UK Bus market, establishing relationships and licencing agreements with large transport operators across Europe is part of the next phase of their journey, selling a market leading product to new clients in the European rail industry. 

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will be an established sales presence in the European rail industry with a network that opens doors and your finger on the pulse of what’s going on. You are a ‘people person’ adept at building strong relationships with decision makers in the industry. Highly articulate, you will have a gift for helping operators join-the-dots internally and understand how they can gain the most value from the Zipabout product/service. 

Core responsibilities:

  • Primary purpose: selling enterprise contracts to the European rail industry.
  • To enable clients to see the value Zipabout can deliver for them.
  • Building appropriate resource to ensure a successful European rollout.
  • Working closely with senior management to shape product and strategy.
  • The sales catalyst for the expansion of the business into Europe.

Vital expertise:

  • Proven track record of selling enterprise level contracts in the European digital space.
  • Established relationships with commercial decision makers throughout the European rail industry.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Strong communication skills – both written and spoken.

 You will be a high-level business influencer with the appropriate networks to drive understanding of the value of the product, achieving sales and building resource to support expansion. You will have the technical knowhow to understand the product and the ability to use your contacts to generate sales.

Zipabout have a lovely newly refurbished office in the heart of Leamington Spa, an hour by train from central London. It would be beneficial to spend some time in the office initially to onboard. Once you’re up and running you would be expected to be out and about maintaining relationships and selling across Europe. It is likely you are currently living in Europe with easy access to the major markets.

  • Commission/target-based bonus structure up to 100% of base.
