The Role

Our client, Ichnos Sciences, is an independent, fully integrated, global U.S.-based biotech company focused on innovation. The company takes a holistic, disease-centric approach to research, and has been structured to work faster, smarter and more collaboratively to accelerate development and quickly bring new treatments to patients.

They are currently seeking to hire an Associate Director to lead their Cell Technology group. The focus will be on stable cell line generation and engineering for the discovery of bi/multispecific antibodies for the development of biotherapeutics for oncology and autoimmune diseases.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, interactive, and creative individual with experience in the following areas:

  • CHO expression cell lines and vector technologies for stable pool generation.
  • Mammalian cell engineering.
  • Cell culture.
  • Antibody expression and purification.

They will be an experienced leader with expertise in leveraging mammalian antibody expression platforms and engineering cell-lines to facilitate discovery research and tech transfer to CMC for cell line development.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Establish a highly functioning cell technology group.
  • Lead antibody expression technologies to select antibodies and bispecific/multispecific antibodies for discovery and support projects.
  • Responsible for expression vector design and the optimization and characterization of cell lines and cell banks to support stable CHO pool development as a prerequisite to candidate selection for industrialization.
  • Lead cell line engineering activities including gene editing technologies.
  • Guide scientists and team to address complex processes and transition hits into clinical leads.
  • Work closely with Antibody Engineering and CMC groups to optimize product quality and data package generation for Cell line development.
