The Company

  • A highly successful and innovative FTSE 250 Plc, this organisation is a designer and manufacturer of design-led products found in the home, which it supplies to its customers through a network of depots nationwide. 

  • As part of its ongoing investment to capitalise on growth opportunities in its market, with the acquisition of an established manufacturing business, the group has created a new bespoke ‘template and fit’ service and product offering – which it will provide to customers through its depot-based installation team.

  • A hugely exciting development for the business, with the potential to make a significant contribution to the group’s sales and profitability, they now seek an accomplished General Manager to lead the development of the plant and the commercial proposition for the business.

The Role

  • As General Manager – Operations, you will be responsible for leading and developing a new bespoke product business unit, with full strategic and operational responsibility for the production site.

  • With ‘end-to-end’ responsibility, this role will bridge and link to the group’s depots, harnessing the company’s expertise to install a product that is right first time, and deliver exceptional service to the end user. Developing a seamless and effective relationship with the depot leadership team will be key to your success.

  • Working closely with the Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Commercial leadership groups, you will also help shape the commercial proposition for the business (product range; pricing; availability) whilst ensuring the production facility ramps up successfully.

The Candidate

  • We are seeking a successful, commercially led, and operations savvy General Manager. From a manufacturing and contracting environment, and with ‘service’ running through your veins, you will understand how to build and lead a start-up business, creating exceptional end-to-end capability in the process.

  • You will possess an established track record within a bespoke product supplier where ‘right first time installation’ is essential, and the capability to ‘bridge the factory into the sales and fitting teams’ with your experience of working with a depot / installation network.

  • With the necessary leadership and influencing skills, you will be a natural in collaborating with peers, to enable you to gain trust and harness their expertise. Creating a ‘template and fit service’ will add a new dimension to this group’s business model, and as such this will be a highly visible role within the organisation.
