Technology is at the heart of everything HSE do. Core to all their work is the data, information and knowledge they have gathered and developed, and which is used to support inspectors, scientists and policy makers. Technology plays a vital role in assuring that HSE staff have the right information and allows HSE to conduct its vital work across all sectors of the Great British economy, from the offshore oil fields of the North Sea to our deepest mines and quarries.
The HSE are on the cusp of a large-scale transformational change and are seeking a new true deputy to widen the reach of the CTO. A major part of this new role will also be to help deliver their ambitious change programmes over the next 3-4 years as they move to Cloud, and major new and innovative digital service technologies (including SaaS, IaaS etc.).
In the future, HSE’s Technology department are also looking to understand how innovation can change the way they deliver services, such as AI, wearable devices and RPA technologies.

Their Digital and Information Technology specialists are essential to HSE achieving the organisation’s ambitious transformation goals, as they look to modernise their digital and technology services in order to support the public, businesses and their staff.
