Commercial Director
Attractive base plus car, bonus & benefits
Lancashire with frequent travel

The Company
  • Our client is a global leader in the field of animal health and nutraceutical products. With products sold in over 40 countries worldwide, the business helps thousands of pets stay fit and healthy. The premium products are packed with natural ingredients and manufactured in the UK in the state of art facilities at the company headquarters in Lancashire.
  • In response to continued global growth, the business is looking to appoint a Commercial Director. This is a newly created role within the senior leadership team and will have responsibility for building on and implementing the existing commercial strategies that accelerate sustainable growth, in-line with company objectives.
The Role
  • The Commercial Director will oversee commercial and marketing plans, new product development, design and customer service. You will spot opportunities that add value to the business and execute marketing and product plans that generate additional revenue.
  • The Commercial Director will have an international remit and act as a brand protector and ambassador. You will work closely with the subsidiaries and distributors to ensure that the company delivers an excellent business relationship, building on its reputation and capitalising on its market share.
  • To fulfil the needs of the role successfully, the Commercial Director will need to develop close relationships with key customers and opinion leaders, business managers and decision-makers. The role will, therefore, require international travel and the post-holder can expect to be overseas on a regular and consistent basis.

The Candidate
  • You will be a high-performing Commercial Director with experience of building and protecting a global brand. Therefore, it is highly likely you will have been classically trained, typically by a larger global company.
  •  An understanding of the animal health sector is not a prerequisite, but an understanding of building a premium brand is paramount. You must understand the values of premium brand positioning and know how a marketing strategy for premium products differs from that of price-led campaigns.
  • You will have a solid understanding of marketing systems and experience in building and implementing marketing and product plans that increase market share.
  • You will be a ‘hands-on’ individual who enjoys working at the coal face to understand the needs of partners across the globe. You will be an excellent communicator and enjoy developing strong, professional relationships with new and existing customers.
