The Role

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Main Board, the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain will be responsible for leading a small team and driving strategic focus within the function. The Head of Procurement & Supply Chain will also:

  • Be directly responsible for procurement activities and broader supply chain operations.
  • Be involved in the Plan-Source-Make-Deliver process.
  • Create and implement strategic category management/ procurement plans, working collaboratively with stakeholders from across function, driving immediate and long-term commercial benefits.
  • Build and execute a supplier relationship management (SRM) plan and framework with key strategic suppliers, ensuring a consistent approach.
  • Deliver cost savings with existing suppliers, in addition to sourcing and onboarding new suppliers who can offer financial and strategic benefits.
  • Work closely with the key functions to understand corporate strategies ensuring a supplier base is in place to drive commercial benefits, utilising leverage opportunities.
  • Drive a best in class performance, focused on strong policies, procedures and continuous improvement, utilising and improving the use of the ERP system and data management.
  • Manage c.£10m+ spend, predominantly stock items.
The Candidate

This individual must have experience working within a manufacturing (or relatable sector) and be able to flex their style to build collaborative relationships with those in the warehouse and executive team/ Board. They must have a passion for performance and change management, creating group-wide procurement and supply chain strategies whilst maintaining a hands-on approach. This procurement and supply chain leader must:

  • Understand the needs of the business, developing and deploying a suitable procurement and supply chain strategy.
  • Have strong relationship management skills both internally and externally, having gravitas and credibility with their suppliers, stakeholders, team and Board.
  • Be a decisive leader, driving performance and capability of the function and their team.
  • Have experience or an understanding of working within a security solution, manufacturing, engineering, building materials or consumer-based environment.
  • Have experience within broad supply chain operations.
  • An outstanding commercial understanding, ensuring that supplier contracts drive savings, efficiencies and innovation opportunities.
  • Degree qualified, CIPS studier preferred, but not essential.
