BAE Systems AI have a highly skilled, close-knit team of technologists. They are now looking for a technical lead for one of their critical cross-domain software teams. The role will be leading a team of up to c.10 developers, taking ownership for the entire software lifecycle, and taking responsibility for developing world-leading security and communication technology, which operates at multi-gigabit speed. 

The Role

  • Manages a team of software engineers (c.10) in the production of high performing security software.
  • Nurture, review and guide the technical ability of the team.
  • Ownership and management of all software development and activity through the development lifecycle, ensuring quality and controls are followed.
  • Sets standards for programming tools and techniques and advises on their application.
  • The ability to reflect on and improve personal and team performance.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be/have:

Technical:

  • 3 years’+ experience in a software position, with strong C++ and Linux.
  • Good grasp of multithreading and networking fundamentals.
  • Design and architecture fundamentals.
  • Experience managing or mentoring multiple other software technologists.
  • Proven problem-solving and fault-finding skills.

Personal:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Confident and risk aware.
  • Be a team player.
