Every day, more than 600 children and young people will travel to GOSH from across the UK, to be treated by the widest range of paediatric specialists under one roof. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses and the brightest minds come together to achieve life-saving and life-changing medical breakthroughs. The hospital is a truly special place of world-class care.
GOSH Charity brings together the best of the charity sector, to raise vital funds for many of the things that make this extraordinary hospital world-class. The money the charity raises is spent on pioneering medical research to help diagnose, treat and even cure the most devastating of conditions; state-of-the-art equipment; child and family support services like accommodation so parents can stay just moments away from their child; and the country’s largest ever charitably funded hospital redevelopment programme, to transform and future-proof the physical environments that GOSH delivers pioneering treatments in.
This is a truly unique opportunity to join one of the best known, well-loved and most successful charities in the UK. An organisation with both an illustrious fundraising heritage and a forward thinking focus on innovation, voted a top 20 charity in 2019’s Sunday Times Best 100 Not-for-Profit Companies list.
The role of Director of Fundraising at GOSH Charity is of critical importance to the organisation. And it’s an exciting time to join. We’re seeking an exceptional candidate who will be inspired by the opportunity to lead and work with colleagues galvanised by a new ambitious five-year strategy launching this year. You will be a key part of the highly motivated Senior Leadership Team which ensures that GOSH Charity operates to the highest standards, raising and granting more money than ever before to help shape, change, and even save the lives of seriously ill children.
The Director of Fundraising will lead one of the most successful fundraising teams in the sector and develop an income generating strategy to diversify and grow income which will support this renowned hospital.
The role provides an outstanding opportunity to make a major difference to the impact that the Charity can deliver for the people we exist to support; our beneficiaries, the children and young people that are patients of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

• Experience of working with and securing significant gifts from HNWI
