Trustees, Malaria No More UK
Unremunerated

Malaria No More UK has a straightforward objective – to help bring an end to malaria. We believe this is achievable by building on the successes of the last 15 years and bringing new resources and leadership to the challenge. In a rapidly changing world where issues come and go, the global community needs to be relentless in pursuing the end of a disease which is estimated to have killed up to half of humankind.

Although a relatively small organisation, Malaria No More UK is recognised as a powerful voice and thought leader in the global malaria campaign. Core support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has significantly increased over the last five years as our niche role of convener and catalyst for malaria funding has become more critical.

Our ambition is to halve malaria by 2023. As we develop and grow internationally, there is a need for increased diversity of skillset, rigour, creative thinking, and strategic input. Income generation, funding sources and impeccable governance need to be maintained to support us as we grow our global reach. We are therefore seeking two new Trustees to join our Board as the current Board members come to the end of their tenure. In particular, we are seeking:

• a Trustee who can contribute to and advise upon the organisation’s partnership work in Africa. The ideal candidate will be someone who will have experience of influencing decision-making at the highest levels. This will help build the organisation’s understanding of high-level influence in key countries in Africa, and development of groups of regional and national champions to enable to drive influence, income and ultimately impact in ending malaria

• a finance professional, experienced at Board level of organisations with similar levels of complexity, to undertake the Treasurer role

If you are inspired by our ambition and think you can help guide the acceleration of the malaria campaign, we would love to hear from you.

Closing day for applications is 18th October 2019.
