Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance Charity (DSAA) is a life-saving charity which provides relief from sickness and injury for the people of Dorset and Somerset, by the provision of an air ambulance service, with an air and road-delivered critical care capability.
Since our launch in 2000 we have flown thousands of missions. We are tasked as part of the normal ‘999’ emergency process by a dedicated Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) desk and can attend up to nine incidents in a single day. We also undertake essential inter-hospital transfers, have a patient and family liaison service and support several injury prevention initiatives.
It is with thanks to the fantastic efforts of our amazing supporters and volunteers that we can provide our life-saving service for 19 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Our current Chief Executive is retiring after 11 successful years in post and we are now looking for his successor to take us to our next stage of development. Supported by a talented and committed team, the new Chief Executive will have a unique opportunity to lead an award-winning charity that really makes a difference to people’s lives. This is a role for an exceptional leader who can bring their own ideas, energy and passion to the charity. The requirement is wide ranging and demanding, from supporting successful fundraising to ensuring the delivery of exceptional, high quality patient care, to reporting to the board of trustees.
