The LEP Network is a gateway to news and information that enables Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) to come together on areas of shared importance, engage with government, facilitate dialogue with economic development stakeholders, and share knowledge and best practice.
The LEP Network is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, directed by volunteer LEP Chairs on behalf of LEP Chairs who are the registered Directors of the LEP Network (Ltd). The full team can be found here
They are responsible for the finances and operational actions of the LEP Network on a day to day basis, signing off annual audited accounts; confirming procurement procedures; and agreeing the objectives and performance of the LEP Network Chief Executive who, in turn, is responsible for the LEP Network team.

In addition, a LEP Network Strategy Group meets throughout the year and sets the overall policy direction and strategy for LEPs. The group is open to all 38 LEP Chairs, including those from Mayoral Combined Authority areas, with the aim of representing a geographic cross-section of LEPs.
The LEP Network is seeking a Chief Executive with excellent relationship management skills; existing experience of working in private/public sector partnerships; and demonstrable ability to manage multi-faceted relationship with different organisations. This is a senior level role, as a “go to” for LEPs, government departments and private and public sector stakeholders.
The successful candidate will actively champion the policy direction of locally LEP led economic growth, and the central role that LEPs play in all discussions with Whitehall and other stakeholders. You will take a lead role in supporting LEPs input their perspective to inform policy.
Truly listening to and influencing all 38 LEPs is at the heart of this role. You will maintain excellent working relationships with all 38 LEPs, primarily at LEP Chair and CEO level, underpinned by regular and effective communications. You will be a critical friend and support to LEP Chairs and Chief Executives.
This is a network that supports and champions LEPs, recognising different local approaches and not speaking on behalf of LEPs. This role will provide effective leadership in ensuring that intelligence and best practice is shared across LEPs, to help LEPs with continuous improvement.
You will take a lead in directing the day-to-day tasks of the team, to deliver the agreed LEP Network business plan, ensuring the support to LEPs is relevant, flexible and innovative. You will be a mentor and role model for the LEP Network team members.
The successful candidate will be a professional, self-motivated, self-managed individual with excellent communication and relationship management skills who can deliver effective outcomes.
• Experience of working with LEPs.
• Substantial and successful senior experience in the economic development policy arena.
• Building and managing senior strategic relationships across a diverse range of external partners and stakeholders.
• Operating at a strategic level (CEO/Board) within the public or private sector.
• Working knowledge of the public sector and the commercial private sector.
• Experience of working in a political environment.
• Writing and presenting reports, and managing an operational budget.
• Managing a small flexible team (who are home based).
