This transformational journey involves the exciting set up of our new Digital Lab / Tech Hub in Reading that will employ some of the best tech talent out there. The Vendor Manager will become a vital piece of that new digital and IT team.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Vendor Manager to join our IT team in the new Tech Hub in Reading. This is a newly created role and it offers a great opportunity for you to shape the future of the vendor management function in BMI.
A key element of this role is to ensure the highest level of internal and external customer satisfaction with a proactive approach to vendor expectations and driving business value. They will have overall responsibility of post-signature IT Vendor agreements, working within budget, ensuring vendors meet their commercial obligations, deliver predictable outcomes and driving commercial value from the relationship.
What will you be doing in the role
Manage post contract relationships with BMI’s strategic IT suppliers
Negotiate contracts and SLAs on behalf of BMI and support the procurement team in this process
Support translating IT requirements into sourcing options
Manage the BMI supplier governance process
Drive suppliers' performance and compliance to contract; intervene as required
Drive, measure and unlock supplier innovation and deliver business value
As a Vendor Manager, you will be highly customer driven with a proven track record of building relationships with senior stakeholders and managing their expectations both on a technical and nontechnical basis.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate integrity, teamwork and tenacity to deliver results in a fast changing environment.
You will also:
Be degree educated in Commercial Management or Procurement
Have significant experience of management of multi-million pound outsourced IT supplier relationships
Possess strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across the business up to C-Suite
