Vantablack has numerous applications including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), where it provides an order-of-magnitude performance improvement over existing light suppression technology. This performance improvement enables the transition to increasingly sophisticated driver assistance technologies in vision systems, head-up displays and LIDAR systems.
To drive mass-market adoption, the company is seeking an automotive sector expert with a full understanding of the supply chain, a broad and well established network, and direct access to the sponsors that drive technology adoption decisions. Reporting to the Group Business Development Director, you will:
• Build on the company’s initial entry level position to develop repeat sales revenue streams directly with OEMs, or as a technical partner to tier 1/tier 2 manufacturers.
• Establish excellent working relationships at senior levels, identifying sales opportunities and closing profitable sales.
• Define the whole product offer, supporting product development by understanding feasibility and playing back the voice of the customer.
Surrey NanoSystems need an individual with the credibility and gravitas to act as both an ambassador and business developer in the automotive sector. He or she will have a technical/engineering background and a strong empathy for innovative products and materials. They will have already demonstrated commercial success in driving new technology adoption.
A home base conveniently located for the OEM customer base and supply chain would be an advantage. This could include but is not limited to the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and France. A high degree of travel is expected in the role.
