The Role

The Logistics Sourcing Specialist will be a member of the Logistics procurement team, with the key responsibility to partner with global and local functional leadership to establish category specific strategies and drive the supplier identification, negotiations and contracting necessary to meet the desired requirements at the best possible economics. Key areas of focus for this position include all modes of Transport (Truck, Rail, MPC, etc.) and Warehousing. He / she will manage the relations with the established vendors across all these categories.

Run the Business:

• Resolve transactional procurement issues for suppliers and internal partners.

• Identify, analyze, and resolve supply and system issues such as pricing errors, freight and payment terms, demurrage charges, and incoterm questions.

• Support issue resolution as needed by supply chain and operations.

• Serve as a systems focal point for workflow and technical questions and support.

• Assist in resolving barriers that may prevent invoices from being paid on time.

• Maintain system price agreements, PO’s and other related SAP documents.

• Enter pricing negotiated by strategic sourcing into system price agreements.

• Create/maintain system price agreements, PIR’s, source lists, and output condition records.

• Process spot requisitions into purchase orders using work process

Change/Improve the Business:

• Be an active partner of strategic sourcing to strengthen strategies and vendor relations.

• Provide limited data reports and statistical insight from SAP.

• Assist in the request to open and close vendor codes.

• Suggest and assist in opportunity improvements for PO and invoicing processes with individual vendors.

Compliance:

• Support corporate compliance and audits

• Provide purchasing support during various internal and external audits

• Verify and coordinate commit and spend DOA issues and ensure compliance is maintained throughout entire work process

The Person

• Bachelor's degree or higher (Logistics, Supply Chain Mgt, Finance, or relevant area of study)

• 3-5 years of experience in procurement related roles

• Training in procurement approaches / strategies

• Demonstrated ability to handle diverse portfolio of logistics projects across multiple spend and geographical areas and work under pressure with competing priorities

• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and negotiation skills

• Proficient analytical skills

• Experience in a global, chemical business environment preferred

• Regional language requirements:

• Spoken and written fluency in Dutch/ German and English is mandatory

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

• Knowledge of SAP is desired, but not required
