The Head of Senior Leadership Development will be responsible for shaping and evolving the learning and development programme for senior leaders in the Church, including Bishops, Deans and members of the Strategic Leadership Development programme. The successful candidate will have a particular focus on ensuring that the current learning and development strategy for Bishops and Deans is reviewed and evolved as appropriate; those who have been identified as having significant leadership potential are prepared for future wider responsibilities and ensuring that high quality learning and development support is available to other change projects. They will also be a key leader and player in a wider culture change programme across the Church of England.
The successful candidate will be an experienced L&D professional, who has operated at main board level and has experience of leading the L&D function in large, complex, commercial organisation. They will have a track record of leading L&D work that has contributed to substantial cultural change and transformation ideally where there has been resistance to this. They will be experienced in managing a wide range of learning providers, particularly business school, coaches and niche leadership development experts, which will include contract negotiation and management.
They will be credible, intellectually self-confident, with strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, possess excellent communication skills and have a positive can do attitude.
