Critical to this is the need to continue to raise standards and aspirations for Herefordshire’s children and young people. Service performance is improving – as validated by our most recent Ofsted which finally saw us out of “Inadequate”. We are not complacent, however, and our improvement trajectory continues with expectations for “Good” when Ofsted return in the Spring. With a clear strategy and corporate alignment, some excellent staff and a family-centred approach across the system there is a renewed confidence.
As Director for Children’s Wellbeing and statutory DCS you will lead and develop a key team to support the wider Council’s activities. Through a proactive, innovative and risk-managed approach, you will ensure that Children’s Services deliver effective and efficient services for our young people. You will play a full and participative role as part of the corporate leadership team as well as working with the broader Herefordshire system – our schools and partner agencies. Your leadership will inspire and motivate the team here to think, act and deliver differently.
You will be skilled at working with a wide range of partners – able to see the bigger picture whilst retaining a grip on operational detail and delivery. You may be working in or alongside Local Government now – but either way, you will ambitious and driven to develop your career in a forward and outward-looking Authority.
For an informal and confidential discussion, please speak with our advisors at Berwick Partners; Jonathan Clark on 0121 654 5926, or Ruth Hernandez Turner on 0121 654 5936.
